Best Spots to Work Remotely in DC

Nowadays with everyone going remote and hybrid, I found that my friends and I were continually googling for new coffee shops and restaurants to work from that weren’t our houses. I decided to document our journey and if the place has the right vibes, ample seating, good WiFi, easy parking, it’ll make the list. Comment with any places we need to try!

Maman

Georgetown | 1353–1355 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, DC, 20007

Pros: For one, Maman is beautiful! And has great (although somewhat pricey) food. There are multiple dedicated coworking areas — “The Study” with one coworking table in the front room and then a room with two coworking tables in the back room.

Cons: Outlets exist but can be hard to come by unless you’re sitting along the wall in one of the study rooms.

Metro/Parking: No metro. Parking is relatively easy around Georgetown. There are lots of free two hour spots in the neighborhood during the weekdays.

The Roost

Capitol Hill | 1401 Pennsylvania Ave. SE, Washington, DC 20003

Pros: The Roost has the most seating out of any coworking-friendly place I’ve seen. This place was made for coworking. Tons of outlets, you can order food from any of the coffee shops/restaurants in the venue directly from your seat using a QR code.

Cons: If I have to come up with a con, this is a popular dinner spot so depending on how long you want to stay, expect it to get crowded around the 5 o’clock hour.

Metro/Parking: Right next to the Potomac Ave station. Lots of street parking around Capitol Hill that’s much cheaper than other areas of the city.

The following spots still need to be reviewed but have made it on my list:

Arlington

Kaldis
St Elmos — WiFi not as consistent
Foxtrot

Del Ray

National Cathedral
Open City — WiFi not as consistent

Dupont
